OTLBC Member & Friends Message
Hello All!
The summer's well underway and it's been a pleasure to see so many of you out at the club, be it on the court, on the green or in the pool! The weather has been very good to us this season and, even when it does rain, our new courts are helping us to get the most out of the tennis season every day! Here are a few announcements to keep you in the loop about what's happening at your club:
Change in Crosscourt Tennis Programming Director
Those of you who have already taken advantage of our tennis lessons and clinics this year will have dealt with the very able Sarah Keir. Unfortunately, Sarah K. has now left us to pursue an alternative career position. We wish her the best! Replacing Sarah K. will be the familiar face of our very own Megan O'Quinn. (Peter Sutcliffe knows a good thing when.) Megan is extremely excited about her position and we are all looking forward to working with Megan in her new capacity at Crosscourt!
Junior Pool Spirit
This Friday July 27, come down to the club for games and stories at the pool. Watch the kids race on pool noodles and see who can come up with the most creative dives, all while you get to know your fellow pool members. Games will run from 5:30-7:30 pm. This is a FREE event. Running in conjunction with this Junior Pool Spirit Event will be our regular Friday-Night BBQ, 5:00-9:30 pm. The BBQ will be offered at regular prices for all members and friends. We hope to see a pool full of munchkins this Friday evening! (Kids, you can bring your parents too :) ).
Centennial Cup
For those not familiar with this event, the Centennial Cup is an opportunity for tennis players to take full advantage of their membership and take to the greens for some friendly competition with our lawn bowlers. The event begins with instruction for those unfamiliar with lawn bowling and concludes with complimentary refreshments on the upper veranda. This event, originally scheduled for Thursday July 26, has been rescheduled until Thursday August 16 at 7:00 pm.
Tennis Camps and Swimming Lessons
Spaces are still available in both our Summer Tennis Camp and Red Cross Swim programs. Tennis camp offers a sound grounding in tennis instruction paired with fun and games while our Red Cross Swim programming caters to a full range of ages and abilities, available in either a group or private lesson format.
Admin-in-Brief
Returning members named by First-Time Members as a referral should pick-up your Thank-you Pack at the Front Desk. Date for 2008 Opening Day has been confirmed: Saturday, May 3. Mark your calendars!

Cheers!
