September's Eleven
Dear Members and Friends,
There is so much taking place in at OTLBC, here is the briefest possible delivery of the abundant current news and events:
- Reminder that, the final scheduled Pool Days are this weekend; join us for some refreshments and chit-chat by the pool from 11AM on Saturday and Sunday.
- Friday-Night BBQ's will continue every Friday throughout September, rain or shine!
- Tomorrow from 10AM and Sunday morning, the final '07 Club Tournament will be played. The Fall Doubles Classic has a combined event for Advanced Men's and Women's teams, and separate events for Intermediate Women's and Men's.
- Strategic Planning Public Town Hall for OTLBC Members, Neighbours and other Stakeholders is Wednesday, September 12 at 7:30PM at the club. The purpose of the meeting, to be hosted by Don Shropshire, is to discuss strategic planning to date and explore some options for OTLBC's future. Please attend this very important meeting and, at minimum, please read the summary available on-line in order to be informed about your club's Future.
- In early summer, the Club conducted three on-line member surveys. The Tennis Member Survey Report findings have been summarized and this Summary is available for your review on-line or by hard copy in the foyer. Thank-you again to all participants.
- The annual sell-out Closing Dinner & Dance with a "British Invasion" theme this time around, is Saturday, September 29. Tickets are now available at the Front Desk.
- Early-bird registration opened August 31 and will close Sunday, October 14. Early-bird member registration forms are now available at the Front Desk and outside the club house front door and will be on-line early next week. Completed forms may be processed in person at the Front Desk or faxed in for payment by credit card. Early-bird fees are the best price available for the 2008 season for returning members and offer savings of 15-20% (depending on category)!
- Lawn Bowling Members' AGM is Sunday, Sept. 16 at 3:30PM. Come out for bowling beforehand and stay for a social afterwards. Meeting and social are rain or shine.
- Tennis Members AGM took place this past Wednesday evening. The newly elected, volunteer members of the Tennis Executive are named on our Contact web page and they are very enthusiastic about planning for 2008. There are two critical vacancies--Tournaments and Playing Chair; if you are interested in contributing to the volunteer organization of Club activities enjoyed by many, please contact Shawn Barker through the Front Desk.
- All regular daytime and evening Round-Robins continue until September 30. The week-day round robins begin 30 minutes later in September at 9:30AM.
- Post-Labour Day club and Café hours of operation are now in effect, please check the Member's web page and/or pick up a hard copy of our "September-October Schedule of Events & Hours" from the club house foyer. This take-away reference contains all of the above.
Thank-you for reading and cheers!
