The OTC provides a complete summer experience that includes tennis, swimming, beach volleyball, dinning & relaxation. Management Staff
Mike Tait
Mike started in the Recreation industry as a lifeguard over 30 years ago. He has experience in all levels in the industry including 7 years in recreation consultancy. One of his projects was a study on the future of Tennis Clubs, sponsored by the Lawn Tennis Association. In the UK, Mike progressed to a Deputy CEO managing the recreation facilities and programs for an entire municipality, including many tennis courts, programs, and activities. Since emigrating to Canada, Mike has held many senior postions, including the Senior Director of Finace & Administration at Dovercourt Recreation Association, the VP of Health, Fitness & Aquatics at the YMCA, and more recently a Director at the RA Centre.
Mike has a Master's degree in recreation management, a strong financial background, and is PMP qualified. However, what drives him is people. He is happiest when solving problems and building successful teams to drive growth and progress. He is family-oriented Husband and Dad, with three teenage children and a dog (Georgie). In the past, Mike has dabbled in tennis but never truly mastered the serve. Mike looks forward to continuing to a historical "Not For Profit" Club, drivin by our Strategic Plan and championing the Club to continue to be a great place to work and play for all.
Claire has had the privilege of working at the OTC since 2011, in many different roles. She started her career in the nursing profession. After a period of family responsibilities, she pivoted to a 20+ year career in sports administration and event planning. Claire has lived in Ottawa most of her life. Her life is enriched by her three children, and she takes great pride and joy in having six grandchildren and six granddogs (Sonny, Sadie, Taco, Blitz, Bear, Mikko).
Claire and Colin, her husband, have travelled the world teaching Bridge on cruis ships. She is looking forward to another great season at the club, and to running many enjoyable activites and programs.
Kailah started working in the Customer Service industry over 10 years ago, at the age of 14. Since then, she has gained knowledge and skills through working at Resturants, Student Residences, and most recently the RA Centre. In the role at the RA Centre, she supervised the front desk team, performing keyholder duties and assistend in the operations of the organization. Kailah holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (Major in HR Management) from Algonquin Collegem and an Honors Bachelor of Commerce (Major in HR Management) form Nipissing University.
Kailah loves to learn and takes every opportunity to do so. Her passion is Training and Development and she loves to teach. Her motto is 'Happy Employees=Happy Workplace'. Outside of work, Kailah enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching hockey (Go Sens!) and reading. More importantly, she enjoys spending time with her cat (Minou) and her parents' two dogs (Bella and Buddy). Although she hasnt dabbeled much in Tennis, she is eager to learn all aspects of tennis, and hopefully pick it up!
Austin has a background spanning 8 years in Customer Service and Hospitality. Throughout the years, he has gained the ability to foster memorable experiences. Passionate about sports and the Art of Creation, Austin finds joy in every opportunity to roll up his sleeves and dive into hands-on projects. His journey has been one of many dynamix experiences, managing over 300 events and utlizing his expertise to enhance customer satisfaction and orgranization growth. From orchastrating seamless operations to promoting meaningful connections, Austin thrives in the fasat-paced environment of Hospitality and Business Development. His mission is simple; to elevate every interaction and endeavor wit a touch of excellence.
Beyond the boardroom, Austin enjoys spending time in the country with his Wife and 2 dogs (Ace and Ferguson). Austin has previously owned and operated a food truck, and is eager to bring all his past experiences to OTC!
The Association of Centenary Tennis Clubs is an umbrella group of clubs of more than 100 years old, including some of the most prestigious clubs in the sport. Initially founded by eight clubs as a pan-european association, the CTC now has an extensive global membership and is recognized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). In 2025, the CTC is comprised of 96 affiliated clubs in 25 countries and on four continents. Of the 96, four affiliated clubs are in Canada - South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club (BC), Mount Royal Tennis Club (QC), Toronto Lawn Tennis Club (ON), and Ottawa Tennis Club (ON)!
CTC Mission
“Our aim at CTC is to uphold the traditions of tennis, as well as the spirit of fair play which is inherent in this great sport. We look to achieve this through organising competitions and other sporting and cultural events; arranging tennis workshops and seminars; and generally supporting the activities of member clubs around the world. We also strongly encourage the development of young talent. We give our support to a range of junior events and seek to foster the future stars of the sport.”
Visting Program
As part of this association there is a visting program between CTC clubs. OTC Tennis Members have an opportunity to visit and play at any of the other 90+ clubs across the globe, including the Queen's Club, Monte-Carlo Country Club, and more! Click HERE for more information.
