Social Life at the Club
There are many reasons the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club is special amongst other area tennis clubs - our 18 Har-Tru tennis courts, an outdoor pool and a full service Café and Bar. It's no suprise that our members spend a lot of time here during the summer season! In addition to regular gatherings on the balcony, overlooking the action on the courts, we have a plethora of social events planned througout the season.
Opening Night Dance (Saturday May 3, 2008)
Celebrate the kick-off of the summer tennis season at our annual Opening Night Dance. This event is open to members and friends alike. Action gets underway at 9 PM and continues until the early hours of the morning. Tickets will be available at the front desk closer to the event date and at the door the evening of the dance.
Wednesday Pub Nights (weekly, during the season)
Every Wednesday night during the season is pub night at the OTLBC! Pub nights are a great night to come by for a pick-up match, or to relax with friends on the balcony and watch the action.
Friday Night BBQ (weekly, during the season)
What better way to spend a Friday evening than with a BBQ at the cottage? Every Friday, weather depending, the club serves up your barbequed favourites and salads. Our Café and BBQs are always open to members and friends alike, so bring the family and relax at your 'Cottage in the city'.
Summer Wine Appreciation (Friday June 6, 2008)
The club is pleased to offer a special BBQ evening this season where one of our own tennis members and wine connoisseur will pair fabulous summer wines with the evening's delicious grilled fare.
Summer Dance (Saturday June 21, 2008)
Mark this date on your calendar! This mid-summer dance will feature a top DJ, great music, wine & beer. What else do you need to enjoy a Saturday night? The dance is open to all and the tunes start at 9 PM. Tickets will be available at the front desk closer to the event date and at the door on the evening of the dance.
Annual End of Season NCTA Party (Saturday September 20, 2008)
At this year's National Capital Tennis Association (NCTA) dinner and dance event, the city's league and tournmament players assemble at the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club to recount the year's successes. This event is open to everyone and ticket information will be available closer to the event date.
End of Season Dinner & Dance (Saturday September 27, 2008)
The end of the summer tennis season doesn't need to be a sad event. Spend one last evening with your tennis family at the club, recounting the summer and dancing the evening away. The evening kicks off with dinner followed by the DJ who kicks off the festivities at 9 PM. Tickets available at the front desk closer to the event date.
