Welcome to the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club!
Our club has so much to offer you and your family that it can be a little overwhelming. So let us take you on a short tour to introduce you to every facet of our club.
Breath-taking greenspace setting
Located in the heart of Old Ottawa South, the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club (OTLBC) is one of the hidden treasures of the nation's capital. The OTLBC is nestled between Brewer Park and the Rideau River, a few blocks removed from the bustle of Bank St.
Unlike other clubs in the area the OTLBC provides a complete summer experience that includes tennis, swimming, lawn bowling, dining and relaxation. It is for that reason that countless families call the OTLBC their "cottage in the city". Please take a moment to learn more about all that the OTLBC has to offer.
18 Har-Tru clay courts
The Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club offers 18 Har-Tru clay tennis courts, 12 of which are lit for night play. 8 of our courts were rebuilt from scratch for the 2007 tennis season. From recreational players to the top competitive tennis players in the city, all agree that the OTLBC now offers the best clay court tennis play in the city!
Tennis programs for everyone
Having so many tennis courts available allows our club to be in the unique position of providing an array of tennis programming that satisfies everyone's tastes.
- Adult men's, women's and mixed singles ladders
- Adult doubles ladder
- 7 weekly men's, women's and mixed round robins for players of all levels
- Evening competitive Interclub leagues
- Daytime women's Interclub league
- Multiple club tennis tournaments
Most importantly, while all of these programs are running, we have ample courts available for pre-arranged and pick-up matches for the rest of our members!
Expert coaching and instruction
We are lucky to be teamed with the tennis professionals of Crosscourt Tennis to offer lessons, drills and coaching to tennis players of all levels. Even better, all Crosscourt instruction can be relocated to the bubble at Carleton in the case of rain.
Junior program and activities
Similar to our adult activities, the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club offers lessons, coaching and activities to junior tennis players of all levels.
- Tennis day camps, running every week during the summer
- Fun activities for kids of all abilities
- Expert junior coaching
- Interclub leagues and tournaments
Outdoor Pool
The OTLBC offers a lovely 75' x 35' pool in a beautiful setting by the Rideau River. The pool is open to all tennis and lawn bowling members, and pool-only memberships are available for those who just want to swim.
Whether you want to cool down after a mid-summer's tennis match, get some acquatic exercise, or relax and read a book on the grass, the OTLBC offers the ideal setting for you.
Full service café and licensed bar
The Cameron Avenue Café offers an enticing menu whether you are enjoying dinner, stopping by for the best weekend breakfast in Old Ottawa South, or partaking in our weekly Friday BBQs.
With a drink from our licensed bar, you can relax and view the action from the clubhouse balcony which overlooks the tennis courts.
Parties, dances and other social events
While many club offer tennis, the Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club is unique in its abundant social life. The club hosts weekly pub nights and BBQs, special events, dances and many parties throughout the season where our members get together for a great time.
And since the café and bar are open daily, our members are always gathered on the balcony or around the big screen TV during grand slam weeks.
Lawn Bowling
The Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club offers lawn bowling for players of all ages on two finely manicured bowling greens.
